Just been sorting some of my washing out as I have loads to do at some point and was wondering how to sort it out into piles that would wash the best. I have put all my jeans/trousers together but have just seen a tip on a site that said mix small and large items as the small items will move around so it will be a better wash.
What does everyone think? Thanks, Amy x

i just do it by colours.
do most stuff at 40, if i have enough blacks and very darks i do a separate load. then i do towels and bedding separately to everything else.
to be honest i always have a mix of small and large items as i only wash for me, so i wouldn't know about that side of things!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
This is only for me too, but I haven't done any in ages and so have about 3 loads to do. Hmm I shall have to see if I have enough do separate it into whites and darks. I normally just shove it all in together.
The washing machines don't have the temp on just whites, colours and delicates as options I think.
I want to do a towel and bedding wash but for some reason feel weird doing that because arn't most beds supposed to have mites and horriable things like that?Student MoneySaving Club member 017!0 -
Wash bedding at 60 to kill mites. Do not use fabric conditioner on towels. It makes them unabsorbent.
Wash darks together at 40
Wash lights/brights together at 40
Wash whites together on whites programme (think its 60)
I use half the recommended level of washing powder on the box."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My hero, Mr Steer.0 -
the whites prog is 90 usually, so i wouldn;t use that, use colourfast cottons or colourfast synthetics instead for a 60 wash. personally i use 40 for whites too, though i hardly ahve any!!!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0

Sorry, my machine actually gives the diff temperatures. Maybe the instruction booklet you got with your machine would tell you which temp each setting uses.A friend is someone who overlooks your broken fence and admires the flowers in your garden.0

I'd just use the colours setting then. You should be ok at that.A friend is someone who overlooks your broken fence and admires the flowers in your garden.0
