Tesco Holidays

Hi
Sorry if ive posted this in the wrong place but ive been saving my clubcard points and wonder how good it is buying it through the clubcard deals. Is there a set limit you can use against a holiday now as someone i know told me there is a limit of £500. Do you just order the holiday vouchers and then go to travel agent a book your holiday say through Cosmos? if there is the one you have chosen. Any helpful advise would be very much apprecaited.
Things will get better day by day.

All the details can be found on the Tesco clubcard website; there are various limits re: amount per person and destinations included between the different Tour Operators. You book directly with the TO over a dedicated phone line once you have received the vouchers from Tesco.

Discounts will be applied against the TO's current brochure price for the holiday. You need to do some good research to establish if you are in fact getting a good deal by using the vouchers; this will not always be the case. I have personally used Tesco Vouchers for good value and very competitively priced holidays to Luxor, Bali and Mauritius.

I have used Tesco vouchers for holidays for years and I must admit the deals are not as good as they used to be. The last two I booked with Virgin were very good holidays ( Sri Lanka and Barbados) but I would not use Virgin again as they provided a very poor service both times. Both times I waited until Virgin had a sale and made sure the vouchers could be used against the sale price.

I have also booked with Cosmos and you don't get the internet price using the vouchers so your voucher saving needs to be bigger than the online saving to make it worth doing.

I've used Tesco vouchers against a few hols to Vegas and New York. You used to be able to use far more than you can now - the limit of £525 per passenger is quite restrictive at Virgin prices and I notice you have to go to a West Coast destination now (no New York)!

Certainly with Virgin I took advantage of Malaysia Airlines sale fares for our trip to Bali and Emirates sale fares for our trip to Mauritius; I think it's rather a moot point now anyway since Virgin now restrict the use of vouchers to holidays to Caribbean, Florida and West Coast USA only.

Other long haul operators have been added to the rewards programme so if interested you would need to contact them directly to see if you are able to take advantage of airline sale fares.

I think it was because the sale price was available from travel agents as well as online and I already knew the price when I called to book.

it is worth asking if it is the best price when they think of a number because sometimes they do come back with a better offer.
