Hi everyone Im looking for a bit of advice on the best way to revive my lawn. A lot of the lawn is very dry looking some yellow patches and some bare patches. Every year I chuck a load of money on patch magic, then end up with really thick green patches everywhere.

This year I want to get the whole thing looking nice and not so bristly on your feet! Ouch !!

Only I've no idea were to start..I've mowed it and that's it..any tips or advice on what to buy ...do?

Thanks a lot :-)

Have you done any scarifying or aerating of the soil?

Are you sure what is under your dead patches is actually soil? I found a broken buried concrete path under my dead patches.

Your soil needs to be consistant with consistent conditions (similar levels of shade etc) lumps and bumps will give it more or less water meaning patches dry out. Similarly any other plants nearby will also drain the soil.

It might also be that if your lawn is quite bumpy, you're scalping bits of it and cutting the grass too short in places. Could you change the mower settings to give a longer cut?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
