Nearly got PCN Tesco's

I've got a lease car through work and today received a letter with a compliments slip from the leasing company that said I'm going to be fined - God help us if the leasing companies can't get it right

On first glance the letter appears to be from Tesco's big T's logo in the top left of the page and them telling you off but on closer inspection is actually from Highview Parking.

They said I overstayed my welcome by 1/2 hour!!

Anyway they only given me a warning this time.

Perhaps T's don't want the publicity - they get enough of my salary as it is!!!

Perhaps Tesco are the first of the big retailers to realise that "a fined customer = an ex customer". Hope you put the lease company wise that if a charge demand does arrive they are not to pay it?

If you nearly got a parking ticket, then almost ignore it. :)

PS. A warning. An interesting new tactic?

No, they apparently send a pointless warning sometimes before a pointless fake PCN:

Tesco have done this for ages, make it look like a real Tesco letter but it seems it actually comes from the parking company staff - that pepipoo thread mentions the issues. Such as any other firm passing off a letter with Tesco header and company number, to look as if it really comes from T when it may not (against various data/info sharing regs and against OFT guidelines I suspect).

However I suspect Trading Standards wouldn't care. Companies House may be interested, or Watchdog, or this guy at the OFT:

I think all the letters about this are misleading at best and Tesco wouldn't enjoy the scrutiny.

And if a disabled person chose to report them to the EHRC for sending out unlawful letters with details of the days when the disabled shopper took longer than the 'able bodied shopper maximum time' then it could get very interesting...

They have known for years they cannot do this without being certain they are not discriminating against disabled shoppers. But they ARE...
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
