Gas hob,advice please on pan supports

I am about to buy a new gas hob (having just moved from an all electric house)
Please can anyone advise which pan supports are the best ie cast iron,enamel , stainless steel

Personally I'd go for cast iron. It's hard wearing & easy to clean. Enamel can chip if something heavy is dropped on it & stainless steel can be laborious to keep nice & shiny. If not well looked after it will start to blacken in places.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Agree, cast iron every time, be careful though when placing them back on the hob after cleaning, as they have scratched my stainless steel hob.

I strongly recommend you try one of your pans on the hob before you buy.....people may look at you a little strange but its important to make sure your pans dont tip off. I didnt do this and have struggled for 4 years with pan supports that wont hold my pans properly. they tip off as they have quite solid handles and its a pain in the b*m as I have spilt milk and gravey so many times.:mad:
