ok, had a look at DLC. It appears they do not always buy debts from companies.

I got wise to that tactic, the 'we can't do any offer as it's not our debt...' answer. I actually called all the debts with a DCA to ask specifically if they bought the debt or were working on their behalf.

This lot apparently are working on Egg's behalf.
Stick it out if you only want to pay the amount offered.

I plan to. My funds are infinite so it's either take it or leave it. I can happily go about ignoring them again so it's in their interest to take my offer.
You should be able to offer Egg directly a sum of money in settlement.

Egg won't even entertain me. I've called for stuff like statements and they had me ask DLC to call them to authorise them to release them to me. What a farce. Some companies will talk to me but most, I've found, once they have gone to DC, they won't talk to me.

Do not send them anything apart from a postal order for £1 and requesting the consumer credit agreement they have. Bet your bottom dollar they dont have it. They have to comply with this request within 12 days, If they do not supply it they are then in default. Once that happens you do not need to pay anything else to them until they do supply it. And they are not allowed to chase the debt until it is produced. There is more about this but i need to get my other facts right before i write any more.
    That's interesting. Hmmm.

Still doesn't mean you aren't liable for the debt though, sadly.

you are right. You are still liable for the debt. But they cannot enforce the debt without the CCA. Only in a court of law. Dont ring or write to them again..Apart from the £1 and request for CCA. Also in your letter tell them you will only communicate in writing. No more phone calls. I presume you already have a default on your credit file from egg. Have you checked it recently. Just make sure that DLC have not put a default on as well. You can only have one default per debt at any one time. If DLC have put their own default on make sure it is only from the date of the original one from egg.

I wil put up the exact letters i have sent off to them. one of mine Global debt recovery have already defaulted on supplying info i have asked for. Another twenty days and i will be reporting them to the OFT. By then they will have commited a criminal offence. oops. They have bought a debt from lloyds TSB. It was for £3100 and now with there charges etc within weeks all of a sudden it is above £5000. !!!!!!. I am also trying to claim PPI and charges from Lloyds TSB. So the account is in dispute. But since i sent the letter to Global i have not heard a word since. One of the debts is actually statute barred. So they can go take a hike.

Is part of your debt charges. If it has gone to a collection agency then i would imagine there would be charges.

Go to bank reclaim forum and use the template letter on there to get all your statements. Costs £10 to do it but they have to comply. You will be able to see exactly what they have on you.

I have had dealing with DLC before and also had to provide proof of income as I said I couldn't pay outstanding debt in full on demand. I sent a SoA in with payment offer and they were fine. I then had some changed circumstances and went to CAB and they took over my debt management for me. They offered DLC £1 token payment because of new circumstances and they went for this no probs. Out of all the DCAs I have had dealings with, DLC were the easiest to deal with. I hated Wescot and Moorcroft. They were not helpful or understanding at all.

I gree. They are twon that i am dealing with as well. Westcott took my £1 payment for the requested CCA as a payment towards the debt. Naughty people. I sent them a second letter stating the £1 was not for the debt. They replied with we do have agreement and we are passing the debt back to original creditor. So sent off a subject access requst from them now. 21 days and no sign of anything so far. Same with Mercers. Passed debt back to capitol one. Am now reclaiming charges from them. Which i am pleased about. I do not want DCA getting hold of something that was mine in the first place. Sorry about the spelling. But having a glass of wine or three. Split uo from partner today and blow me down. Like bad debts the ex husband has turned up on my doorstep saying his girlfriend has asked him to leave. Guess which muppet has offered him the spare room.
