Driving and epilepsy?

Does anyone know if there is a certain "type" of epilepy that you can actually drive with even tho you have regular fit?
When i say regular i mean about every 3 months?
The reason i ask is because i know someone with regular fits but still drives and hasn't let DVLA know about the fits anyway.
Thanks

What? If they have had an episode within the year they should hand back their licence until proven fit to drive. If they don't, treat them like the lunatic, selfish moron they are.
What an incredibly dangerous thing to do.0 -
Probably invalidates their insurance if they haven't notified DVLA ..#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

A friend of my wife had to be fit free for 5 years.. before she could het her licence back.
Obviously if she has not declared it, She had better hope she doesnt have a fit and kill someone.
Personally friend, relative whatever... I would report them... They are a danger to everyone.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
They should definitely not be driving and will have been told that by their GP. Also their insurance will be invalid as they can't have said they are having siezures.
Personally I would contact the DVLA as they are a risk to all road users.

She is full of it, any seizure is notifiable, I think there is an initial 3 month period of licence revocation after the fit if the fit was caused by a bang on the head or hypoglycaemia. But it is a long time since I dealt with such things. We always had to be very sure of ourselves before putting seizure, EP or otherwise on a patients paperwork for the very reason that it would lead to licence revocation.
From memory an EP pat needs to be seizure free without medications for a year before they have a chance to get their licence back.
I think you can get more accurate info than my hazy memory can provide on the DVLA website.
But as far as your next move goes, sorry but you need to go into your local Police Station and report her, she is as mentioned, driving otherwise than in accordance with her licence and is therefore probably uninsured.
The only fit you can have related to pregnancy would be related to pre eclampsia usually, and they would stop you driving then aswell.
She is a danger to herself and those she travels with. Though I suspect you just needed others to confirm what you already thought.0
