Balance Transfer to someone else

Hello,

Please could someone tell me whether I can balance transfer my credit card to my partners credit card?

If so does this work with online applications or will the computer throw a wobbler if I try??

Please help!

Thanks

I've done the same myself, probably wouldn't work if the accounts are with the same organisation.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

Some card providers allow it, some dont. You will have to check the Terms and Conditions of your card / the card you are applying for.

I have done it without a problem with Barclaycard but have recently read on here that others have had it declined with other lenders.

    no you can't
however your partner can generally transfer the balance although some CC don't allow this; most only need the CC number

of course the debt will then be your partners

The cardholder that the debt is being transferred to must authorise it and so "you" cant do it.

Your partner can request payment to be sent to any card number he wants, ultimately his card issuer has no way of knowing if it is in his name or not (assuming its not within the same group of brands) other than by asking.

He does become solely liable for the debt if he were to do it though.
