Witholding tax on German share sale

Hi, I have just sold some shares in a German company and it was handled by a german bank. They have charged 52% witholding tax on the profit. I am a UK resident, so how do I go about reclaiming some or all of the witheld tax?

    Hi,

i found this i hope its a little help.

I know in the UK there is the Financial Services Authority (FSA), i dont know if there is a single european body that you could contact which could provide more information or put you on the right path to claim back your tax.
