Outdoor Pizza Oven!

Here's one for you
Anyone ever built or even seen a domestic outdoor pizza oven? I saw one on a Jamie Oliver show a while back and has been working in my head for a bit, have found a few "how to" videos online and a couple of websites devoted to them (just to prove there is a site for EVERYTHING!) but haven't quite made my mind up about it.
I'd love to hear if anyone has any experiences of such a thing. I do make home made pizza, and think cooked outdoor in a wood-fired oven would be amazing!
Thanks in advance

Well just check out the Spanish
I think they call them paellaro and are very popular.

there are a few articles about this on the guardian website

Loads come up if you just google the phrase.0

Thanks, I tried paellaro but didn't get anywhere other than a collection of spices for paella! I'll have a look on guardian link, thanks Sue. Biggles, thanks, I did google and found a fair few sites, but I was asking on here to hear if anyone had first hand experience. I've read many websites saying particular diy jobs are easy, but that turn out to be easy if you have a City and Guilds in it, but for the average joe (like me) isn't actually so easy!0

There is a metal freestanding one sold out of germany on ebay. Search on charcoal BBQ smoker if the link fails.

You need to be looking here http://ukwoodfiredovenforum.proboards.com/ Very helpful bunch of guys. Picked up no end of good advice. You can either buy a kit or build from scratch. If you look through some of the pics, there's everything from the most "rustic" to some that look like designer built bungalows. Another good site is http://www.traditionaloven.com/ run by an Australian guy called Rado & again it's full of good ideas & advice.0

Thank you all. Trumpeter, have you built one? Use it much? Pizzas amazing?!0

Would tin foil and a normal kettle style BBQ not suffice?
Put tin foil or a metal plate under the pizza to prevent burning and place it on the grill of a BBQ with a lid.
You could add woodchips to the charcoal if necessary.
You can buy round kettle BBQs very cheaply.
PS: I'm feeling hungry now and it is ages until dinner time.0 -
I'd also recommend using a decent BBQ. I would imagine it would get far more use (unless your household eats pizza for dinner unusually often!).
We have a Weber charcoal BBQ and it's the dogs proverbials. They make a pizza stone for it:

For baking pizza I'd go for a BBQ that comes with a lid. The heat in ours is incredible compared to a traditional 'open' BBQ (lots of burnt sausages and burgers before we realised that!). I think you'd need that heat for baking.0 -
We are pretty mad for pizza, plus I'm just getting an old oil tank removed, leaving a pretty sturdy base that I think would be ideal for a pizza oven. I don't think a barbeque would get up to the temperatures required for proper wood-fired oven pizzas, not impart the same flavour, but I'd need a taste test to confirm!0
