Cooperative Young Driver Insurance

I recently took out car insurance with the cooperative young driver insurance when i purchased my new car. one of the questions i was asked was if i had previously had insurance with them. on my previous car i had insurance from cover box with the cooperative being the insurers. they claim that they were only the underwriters of this insurance policy with cover box. i have the motor insurance policy stating that they were the insurers.

any help would be grateful as i am having a major disagreement with them over this.

They would be the underwriter for the coverbox policy.

The wording you see on your cert is normal for insurance arranged by the likes of coverbox, where the (authorised) insurer is named, though coverbox details will also be on the cert too.

what is the disagreement over? why do they care if you had a policy with them before?

I would guess that it would have something to do with the box that gets fitted in the car. They might be a bit peeved if they pay for a box and pay for an installer to go out only to find that there was already one there :rotfl:
