Have a winxp sp2 computer and I am using a very old monitor packard bell with inbuild speakers.
I've tried changfing settings nut cant gewt any sound. I can see it going up and down on winamp but nothing is coming out. If I take out the wires or put them in it gives a crackle but thats it. I swapped settings to speakers inbuilt with monitor but its still nit happening

It might sound sily but are you sure you are plugging the speakers into the right socket - my inlaws did just this and had it plugged into the mic socket.
Check the volume / sound properties (from the control pannel) and make sure that it has not been muted by mistake.'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts'
