Credit Card statements

My daughter was granted a court directions order that asked her ex husband to supply credit card statements from several companies dating back six years.
The ones she has received appear to be little more than summaries. They do not have detailed purchases, credits, debits, cash advances and balance transfers.
Does any one have any experience on obtaining or seeing historic credit card statements and have they shown detail ?
It is important for her to see what the credit cards were used for and the information currently supplied is of little use.
Thank you for your time.

going back 6 years, or 6 years ago it will depend as companys only keep for 6 years maxDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Going back six years is fine but the ones that have been received have only been summaries and I wondered if that was normal as it does not show individual purchases/usage.0

The former husband needs to send a Subject Access Request (SAR), enclosing £10, to each institution to get the detail. If that has been done already then he already has the information you need. It's not clear to me how he would otherwise have the summary information.
Edit
You / he can get a <template letter from the ICO>.

That is what has been done but the card statements he has provided do not detail any purchases. It just states purchases / debits as a collective figure.0

Sounds to me that the former husband is not complying with the court order. That could be contempt of court. Your daughter should insist he comply with the order or be ready to face the consequences.Michael1001 wrote: »That is what has been done but the card statements he has provided do not detail any purchases. Edit
I don't know anything about court directions but you can read a little about the court's powers <here>.

I would agree but if the credit card companies have only provided what they have then presumably there is no where to go on this.
Thats why I wondered if anyone here has had experience of obtaining historic statements and could tell me if they provided the individual purchase transactions just as a recent one would.
Thank you for the 'contempt' link. Very useful to be reminded of the importance of the Courts powers.0 -
It is my understanding that financial institutions should keep detailed records for six years. How can summary records be drawn up without the detailed transaction information?
It is not clear from what you have said whether the institutions have sent summary records to the ex or to your daughter or whether the ex has received the full records but sent your daughter only summaries.
The information you have provided is not very clear. I think you had better see a solicitor but be prepared to be more precise about who has or hasn't done what.
Good luck.

Many thanks.
Apologies on my post not being clear.
The credit card statements were sent to the ex husband who then forwarded them to my daughter.
It was a surprise that these statements did not detail individual purchases and transactions and I was wondering if any one else had obtained old statements and if they had the full transactional details on them.0 -
All I can say, really, is that in the case of PPI claims, for example, the card companies need detailed records of charges and the dates they were charged in order to establish the amount of refunds and compensatory interest.Michael1001 wrote: »It was a surprise that these statements did not detail individual purchases and transactions and I was wondering if any one else had obtained old statements and if they had the full transactional details on them.
Someone is not being entirely honest with your daughter. The card companies should have provided full details going back up to six years. If they have not then they have not complied with the requirements of the SAR.
I suggest your daughter asks her ex, in writing, for the full transaction details or else he will need to explain to the court why he has not provided them as directed.
