You can get a quality LED Spotlight, from a proper UK company, that will actually replace a 50w halogen, will last 25,000 hours (11 years at 6 hours per day), with a 3 year warranty for around £10..
This was exactly what I was looking for when I purchased my four pieces of x3led 4w gu10s off ebay from China - like others I looked carefully at the sellers feedback and decided that 4 for £8.59 was a good deal and a good a gamble.
Where could I have bought even 1 gu10 with the aforementioned 3 year warranty for £10 please?0 -

Ok, well my information and recommendations are for people who don't want to take gambles and want to invest in a quality product from the start.
As i say, sellers feedback on ebay only accounts for about 1 weeks worth of usage. For a product that apparently lasts 50,000 hours, (which is nearly 23 years at average usage), it's really not that helpful for a product like an LED Lamp as it's very easy to find a product that will be bright for a month or so, or even a year.

Do they have a plastic heat dissipation casing? Can't tell if it's plastic, glass or metal.
The best LED Spotlight i have ever seen only claims to have a 40,000 hour lifespan. A product that has years of design and engineering experience put into it, won multiple international design awards, made from the best raw materials possible, comes with a 5 year warranty and has multiple patented elements.
Yet this ebay version has a 50,000 hour lifespan?
The ebay spot you have linked to is also cool white. It has a colour temp of 6000 - 6500k - An LED Spotlight that would replace a 50w Halogen would have a colour temp of around 3000k
Hi
The external surface is glass. I realise that 50k hours is unlikely, but so far they have lasted longer than the three or four LED "bulb" units that I had before, all of which flickered after a few weeks.0 -

I've not researced colour temperatures, so I can't comment, but I like the brighter "white" light rather than the "yellow" light. These are pretty bright.0 -

So you can't ACTUALLY provide me with a product? I looked they're not easy to find and I think you're talking hot air - so come on please provide the gu10 with 3 year warranty and next time I need some I'll check them first.
Edit - oh hang on I've found the website - but on looking at the 'Contact Us' details there's no address just an email and a phone number - who'd be daft enough to think that they were a reliable company? Lol!0 -

Ah, you solved your own initial problem.
Yes, it's true that under 'contact us' there is no mailing address. However i'm sure if you looked under 'delivery and returns' or 'terms and conditions' you will find a company mailing address.

I've not found LED Spots give off a 'yellow' light. They are certainly not as yellow as halogens although warm white does retain a warm glow.
One of the big benefits of LED lamps is the range of colour temps available. Natural white is in between warm white and cool white and might be suitable for you. We use Natural white for pretty much every commercial property we do. :beer:0 -

smallblueplanet - metal or plastic as a heatsink - which is better? That's just for starters.
Anyway, I've ordered 2 of these 6W LEDs that elstimpo says you can Google, they're £9.99 each with free delivery. He gave me some excellent advice, and even with the caveat that he's a seller, gives excellent advice and knows more than most people in this thread about LEDs.
elstimpo - I think Mr Majic was referring to liking the yellowness of the halogen bulbs, not LEDs.0 -

I'm sure had the offices been in Mayfair you'd still have found something to criticise for no good reason.
Look, i've worked with in the LED lighting industry for over a decade and i'm just trying to help and offer some advice based on my experience. You don't have to read what i say and you can easily ignore me if you chose.
Thanks for the positive comments about our website though.
