running dishwasher without filter in

I wouldn't normally do this but have been having problems with the dishwasher and just took the filters out to clean and also poured some boiling water in. I then started the programme a few minutes ago but have just realised I haven't put the filter back in. There are no dishes in it. Will running the programme without the filters in place cause any damage?

Depending on how clean the dishwasher is inside probably not but I wouldn't chance it, all you need it for a bit of peel or something in the corner to drain out and jam the recirc pump. They are often VERY expensive to replace.0

Probably a bit late now but if you open the door the programme will stop until you close it again. Open door, replace filters, close door again and off it jolly well will go.

I did that once, the programme "stuck" at 9 minutes to go, and kept rinsing and rinsing ... luckily I'd put it on when I was in and out of the kitchen, so I noticed it was making a swishy sound for a long time and turned it off, put the filter in and started it from the beginning again0
