There are also Travellodges and Innkeepers Lodges which are not too far away.
Would recommend taxis by the way.
Liverpool Town Centre is about half an hour away.0 -

As suggested above, the Derby Lodge is a Premier Travel Inn called Liverpool Tarbock
http://www.premiertravelinn.com/pti/hotelInformation.do?hotelId=23828&iscsell=true
I think its the nearest and the nicest in the area - its set overlooking a golf course which is really pretty especially in summer. The pub next door does nice food and has been refurbished. The Suites Hotel has nice rooms but its a bit further out.
If you are not wanting to go into town after the wedding, I would stay there. If you want to visit Liverpool for shopping you can get the train from Huyton or Roby (Roby station is over the road from the Derby Lodge) which takes about 15 minutes and takes you to Lime Street - a lot easier than driving and trying to find a parking spec. You will be looking at £20 each way in a taxi if you go into town from Huyton.0 -
premier lodge at st helens isnt too far either about 15/20 mins0
