kobo e/reader touch questions

hi just purchased and couple questions is there a charge to connect to wifi at home /outdoors, and with the websurfer thats included. and anywhere else to download e/books from apart from kobo thanks

    I use the free "Calibre" software on my PC to put books on my sony reader, and I know this also supports Kobo. You should be able to get books from any source the Kobo reader supports or convert non-protected files.

    tried to drag and drop from computer straight to kobo but nothing

    I couldn't comment on that, but I know on my sony device I "send to device" from Calibre, as it maintains it's own index of books on the device.
