TESCO home phone call charges rip off WARNING!!

Hi all,

Just checked my Tesco home phone bill and saw that i had 13 pounds in call charges. I am very careful and never make any calls before 6pm so this drew my attention straightaway. I looked at the call charges and found that the times of the calls were just after 5pm instead of 6pm.

Basically it appears that somewhere, somehow the time on the system that logs calls was an hour behind regular time therefore charging for calls that should be free. I called TESCO and they have credited my account but i just wanted to warn others to check all call charges and query them asap if any discrepancies are found.

I think TESCO make enough profit without ripping off more cash from unsuspecting bill payers.

FYI... the evening call rate changed from 6pm to 7pm a few years ago with just about every provider... they realised they could make more money this way...!

    Hi Sharon,

I'm looking to change my landline phone provider very soon and just wondered what Tesco are like? Any info would be great... apart from the above mentioned fiasco... are they any good...?

    Thanks, Andy

I'm pretty sure there are several providers that still have peak rate starting at 8am and ending at 6pm - certainly mine (The Phone Co-op) uses those times.
