Renewing Disabled Car Tax query?

I wonder if someone can advise me if the situation as changed with regards to renewing disabled car tax.
I renewed the disabled tax disc on my first car at the Post Office without problem last month, however upon going into the Post Office today with the DLA form etc to tax my other car as Disabled, I was told the DLA forms are no longer valid and there is a new system in place.
I did try to telephone the DWP's DLA department this afternoon but gave up after being sat in the call queue for over half an hour.
If anyone knows what this new procedure is, I would be grateful for any pointers.
With thanks
Ian

Hi Ian
I understand from your posting that you're looking to run two cars with disabled tax discs? Correct me if I'm wrong but I think you are limited to one vehicle 'tax exempt' only.
Any other vehicles need to be taxed and paid for as normal.

There is a new [from Oct 2011] issue called a Certificate of Entitlement to DLA - this new certificate will get you your tax disk, the old Certificate of Entitlement [DLA 404] can continue to be used until it is full up, if its full contact the Pensions, Disability and Carers Service [PDCS]Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. No, I am permitted to tax two vehicles disabled.
I may have explained it slightly awkwardly, but basically I receive the War Pension Mobility Supplement and use this form to tax one car (My left leg and right foot were amputated after becoming severely burned and damaged during the exocet attack on HMS Sheffield in the Falklands).
Since 1995 I also claimed the High rate DLA, which although not paid monetarily due to some overlap rule or something, I do retain what they call underlying something or other which allows me to have the Disabled Tax Disc from the DLA claim as well. I understand if one claimed this now it wouldn't be allowed but my claim pre-dated this rule and it thus continues.
It is the DLA form which the Post Office wouldn't accept saying I had to have a new form (which 'Richie from the boro has kindly' enlightened me to), even though there is still one space available on my existing DLA form.
As it would appear my existing form is still valid, I think I will print off the information and try again at the post office again tomorrow.
Thanks anyway.
