Scottish Widows telephone...is there anyone there?

Does anyone else have to wait 20 mins + for Scottish Widows to answer? I've called 4 times over the last 14 days and still not spoken to anyone (20 mins is my on hold limit). I'd like to open an account with them but looks like they don't want my business :(

Try this number for Scottish Widows Bank: 0131 655 2000 (option 1 for savings, then option 3 for new business enquiries)

I think you've answered your own question.

If an organisation can't be bothered to answer the phone to get you to join as a new customer how are they likely to treat you once they have your money already. You might be annoyed you can't speak to them now but how frustrated would you be if you can withdraw money when you want.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

Unless I was a spendaholic and was unable to leave my savings to grow, I wouldn't be frustrated at all ;)

Only kidding, I agree with where you are coming from. But.....

I don't know what number OP is trying to get through to SW on but up till now I have never had to wait that long to get through on the phone to them. Today I got through in under a minute on the number I posted.

maybe they're all too busy making adverts with kinky looking women in black capes and suspenders
  • I don't think I've ever waited more than a handful of minutes to get through to someone at the Bank part. I call the regular geographical number available on saynoto0870 (also given out by SW themselves for use from overseas).
