Paying off a card whilst pursuing for PPI

I've just received a tax rebate of c. £800. I was going to use it to put towards a £915 balance I have on a Virgin CC. However, I'm just about to pursue them for PPI that I've been paying for the last 18 months or so. Is this wise, or should I keep the card open ie have a small debt on it?

I would keep the account opened but don't be surprise after your claim having your limit slashed & interest increase. At that point you'll have the choice to close it....0

Thanks. Could I pay off the full balance, but technically keep the account open and continue to pursue for PPI?0 -
Paying off the balance does not close the account, if it did I would have to find a new credit card every month!0
