NS&I Index Linked Cert Interest?

Hi, without me having to dig out my certicate and give NS&I a call, can anyone confirm what happens to the interest accrued during the 5 year certificate period, as I paid in to one in May last year when they were on release so it is likely that I've gained a years interest by now, but not sure if it just stays on the certificate or is paid to me?

You will get it when you cash out or at the end of the fixed term.0

If I remember correctly if you cash out within 12 months you lose any interest accrued. Any time after this you will get it.Thinking critically since 1996....0

Many thanks, the term is 5 years but I've passed 1 year now assume I'm accruing interest. Shame you can't check certificates on the NS&I banking system but at least they have a calculator to give an idea of how much it has made so far.0
