Whirlpool appliances - good or bad

I am considering whether it is worth having a Whirlpool hob and possibly extractor in my new kitchen due to special offers. I have never previously had any Whirlpool appliances so would welcome any feedback, good or bad.

Not bad depending on what you pay for it and how it compares to a BSH appliance of comparable specification. Generally found them to be about 10% cheaper on a like for like basis and the saving is not worth the difference in quality. For similar money I would buy Electrolux. We’ve had to remove your signature. I have Whirlpool Dishwasher, Oven, Induction Hob & Extractor in my kitchen. Had them for a couple of years now. No issues at all.
They are not a 'premium' brand but they seem well put together. Ikea rebadge them with a 5 year warranty so if you can find what you are after from Ikea, purchase from there.0 -
I have had a whirlpool washer for just on 20 years and nothing has ever gone wrong with it.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

Bought a cheap whirlpool dryer from Asda about 6 years ago.
Was not expecting much for the price I paid but it has confounded my expectations and is still going strong today and has never broken down.
Can't vouch for any other of their products mind.0 -
Whirlpool brand is actually owned by Phillips (German engineering, so fairly good).
I have a built in double oven and an electric hob, both of which have given 8 years of faultless service.
Hope this helps.0 -
I've had my whirlpool washing machine 10 years, during which time I've lived in 4 different homes and it's never missed a beat. I think it cost me £190 when new. I also have a Philips tv and iron, the tv is 5 yrs old and the iron 9 or 10, both faultless.0

Just kitted out my kitchen with the Ikea stuff, all looks & feels decent so far. Had AEG Electrolux & Hoover before, have Caple in rented and the Ikea is much nicer

That's untrue at several levels. Whirlpool is American. For a while Philips appliances was owned and marketed by Whirlpool (dont know status now) and there were merely rebadged appliances.
Philips is a Dutch company so that German connection is untrue. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
