Sue bus company - waste of time?

I suppose the other question was was it full?0

I don't think it had any passengers on board when it flashed past. My guess is that part of that journey is rarely used, so the driver doesn't bother to wait if he reaches the particular town early. Which is probably why no-one in the town trusts it, as I was told when I went into a pub to get a taxi number.
It was the last of 4 journeys on a Saturday. With the Bank Holiday the next one would have been on the Tuesday.
Thanks for all the replies, if I can be bothered to take it further the Traffic Commissioners sound like a good next port of call.0 -
If there were no passengers could it of been out of service, in which case you have even less of a case for compo.0

I guess you don't live there or use the bus much then.
In rural towns & villages with infrequent bus services there are often rules that outsiders don't understand.
1) you should, the day before, inform the local gossip of your planned trip. She will ensure the bus driver knows to look out for you
2) hang your handbag on the front gate, or driveway post, so the driver knows you want to go to the big town & will stop at your house & toot the horn for you ( my aunt's local bus driver would do this for her

Chalk it down to experience and move on with your life

When I was with LRT many years ago running early was a sackable offence. The bus company can lose the contract for running early as there are strict policies in place to stop this. Running late can't be helped because of traffic jams etc but there can be no excuses for running early.
The OP isn't far off the mark, if proveable they would be liable for the losses.0 -

Was it the number 3 bus of the day running late that you saw or a bus out of service, and the one that you wanted was still on its way?0 -
