repairing my credit file

i have had poor credit over the last 4 years, since then i went to brighthouse 8 months ago and got myself something from there, i have always made my payments to them and since then i have been able to get a couple of payday loans from payday uk and the money shop and also now ive been accepted for a phone contract, my credit score is currently on or slightly over 271 (checked 3 weeks ago) who else will give me credit such as credit cards etc so i can keep building up my credit file? i dont need people telling me not to etc i can afford it and its my decision. thanks guys

If you have several late payments or defaults showing on your report then no high street lenders will give you a card, however you could try with a sub-prime like vanquis, capital one....even with them acceptance is not certain. Limit will be very small & interest very high, but if spending a little every month and paying the balance in full each months will help you rebuild your credit worthiness

There is a school of thought that having "distress" items on your credit file such as payday loans actually makes your credit rating (which is meaningless anyway) worse.

Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
