Here's a poser, i live in the philippines, i have an hsbc bank in manila,
What i'd like to do is open an hsbc account in uk, at the moment i still have my old lloyds account which the money from my flat rent in uk is paid into, i then have to trnsfer it to my sons halifax via another account to transfer here, i would ask hsbc but as usual there's no email you can send to.
Can i open an account without a uk address? or will the fact that i have an account here help?
Any ideas tnx

I opened my UK HSBC account before moving to the UK from NZ but I required a deposit. Ask at your local branch.
Not sure it will give you much advantage though, the accounts will likely have nothing to do with each other, although HSBC UK makes it easy to transfer money internationally (at a price) via their internet banking.
A better option would be to use something like http://HiFx.co.uk which has a really good online portal which can take money out of your Natwest.0 -
Thanks heloid, i'll give it a try,0

Why not sign up (if not already registered) for Internet banking with your Lloyds account?
If the account is a current one then you can do an international payment online.0 -
Call up the international banking centre

If you qualify for HSBC premier then transfers are free, so receive the money in GBP and convert to pesos when the rate is good0
