Looking for nile cruise to include pyramids

2 of us going for a week or 2.
Me and girldfriend would like to go on nice holiday to egypt but i've got to see the pyramids if I go there so a curise to include them would be perfect.
I have spent some time looking now but there does not seem to be many that are what I want or are very expensive.
Anyone seen any good for value cruises to include ciro/the pyramids?

Most Nile cruises start at Luxor and sail to Aswan (the opposite direction to Cairo) and then back again.
You could consider doing a week-long cruise (Luxor - Aswan & baack) with a further week in Luxor and fly to Cairo or go on the overnight train to Cairo.
To be honest, I thought the temples along the Nile were stunning, much more impressive visually than the pyramids - but that might just be me.0 -
thanks for advice.
The extra flight puts me off a little.
Best 1 i have found is thompson one 'red sea magic' calling at Sharm El Sheikh , Aqaba , Aqaba , Ship At Sea , Port Sokhna , Safaga , Safaga , Sharm El Sheik. 7 days for £575 pp. This includes flights and full board.
Guess it is not a bad deal really. Ne1 know of any better?0 -
The cruise you're looking at isn't what is traditionally known as a Nile cruise.
Nile cruise boats are totally different to other cruise ships, I'm not sure which one Thomson use for the Red Sea Magic cruise.
Take a look at the excursions on that cruise.
The Luxor one is 14 hours duration, the Cairo one is 11 hours.
This is one of Thomson's Nile cruises:

Have you had a look on touregypt.net?0

The Nile boats stopped going from Cairo years ago after they were shot at! My old Manager used to tell us about the time she was on one and some rogues were standing on the bridges shooting at them!:beer:0

The normal way to combine the Pyramids and a Nile Cruise is to use the sleeper train from Cairo to Aswan, then sail to Luxor. Most companies who offer "cultural" holidays to Egypt will be able to offer that - for example this trip0

Have a look http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowForum-g294200-i9124-Egypt.html - very very useful - the forums are a goldmine. I used SharmExcursions' http://www.sharmexcursions.com/ - for a short trip to Cairo- as always email or phone to talk to someone to haggle0

Hi. My family did a Nile cruise last year and stayed in Hurghada for a few days afterwards. We could have added a Cairo trip as well if we had wanted, but chose not to because of the riots at the time. It was an absolutely fabulous holiday. We booked with (I can't put links in so I hope you can work out the web address): www dot flightsandpackages dot com. I called them and they were very reasonably priced and took a lot of trouble to tailor the trip to suit us. See www dot anileadventure dot eu. I hope you have a great time!0 -
We went to Egypt just a few weeks before the uprising. We started off with a weekend in Giza (actually had a view of the pyramids from our window), which is more than enough time to do the Pyramids and the Museum, and the really big mosque etc, then we had a week's cruise on the Nile, then we had a week in El Gouna.
To us this was the perfect combination, far prefered staying in Giza for a couple of nights to making long journeys from distant resorts! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
