NS&I online service registration (premium bonds) taking 5 weeks

In case others are waiting for this service...
On the NS&I website this registration process to manage PBs and other NS&I accounts online (from sending in a signed form yo receiving your login details) is estimated to take 10 days, yet on chasing today we've been told there are delays of 5 weeks due to the demand!

Just an update to this NS+I shambles - still nothing, chasing on the phone today they still have no idea how long registrations will take, estimating 4-5 weeks, which passed long ago...0

They're useless at the moment, I moved two months ago, updated addresses by post and sent reg forms for online access - Saturday a letter arrives asking me to sign a form. Two months!

Glad it's not just me then, still nothing. It's amazing that banks will just as many customers as NS+I can setup on-line access in a couple of days, including letters to confirm details.0
