Equifax and incorrect info.

Basically the above, not sure which forum this is best for? Anyhow we both sign up to experian as we have to keep tip top cfs for work. We decided to get a free trial with cash back of equifax. Now on my husbands account they have confused him with a family member thus there is an acquaintance which shouldn't be on there.

It hasn't caused us any problems so far, as they are pretty credit worthy in themselves. But it's not the point. They now say they can't remove it as the systems won't let them. What the hell? They know it's a mistake and who they have mixed him up with but cannot remove incorrect information, surely that is wrong? They have made an amendement instead. Is there no time scale for how long they have to remove this information? I can't believe it's allowed
