vanquis stalling me,think Im about to be ripped off

hello all, I just recently got a vanquis c/c, the first month I had £154 outstanding, made the minimum payment by my debit card online and all was well,this month has been quite a heavy month financially, so I ran the card up to £998.31 (£1000 limit), my statement is not due until 26/05/12 but I got paid on the 16/05/12 and so went on line and paid the card bill in full using my debit card (at 07.10 on 16/05/12) however, I did not receive an acknowledgement e-mail, so later that day I phoned Vanquis customer services and was told that it was showing up on their screen that I had made the payment but it would take up to 3 days to go through after which I would receive a confirmation e-mail, well after 3 days they still had not taken the money from my bank account so I phoned again, and again was told that it was showing up as paid but it would take longer to go through as they had to check that I had the funds in my bank account to cover such a large amount ?, with alarm bells ringing and the statement date getting closer I decided to call my bank and ask them if they had anything pending on my account for vanquis, they said no. Its now been 5 days and the money still has not left my bank account,I am now getting worried as vanquis are the only ones who know that I have made this payment on line, and I have no proof whatsoever, I fear they are waiting for the payment due date to pass and are then going to try to hit me with interest on the £998.31, any advice please.

I would suggest emailing customer services so that atleast you have a record of your interaction with them.

I normally either take a screen print("prtSc" on keyboard) of the online confirmation and save it in word using paste "command" or in past few years I use a software called cutepdf which appears as a printer on your computer. This way you can print and thing using normal printing process but use cutepdf as teh printer instead of your printer. This in effect creates a pdf file on your computer instead of generating paperwork. The software is free to use.

I find this very easy to keep records. Vanquis can be very difficulty when they decide not to make it easy when on telephone. But writing to them does wonders and as you have proof of interaction in black and white and they tend to respond promptly.

OH had proble with ID fraud when someone had taken a vanquis card in her name and Vanquis made it very difficult despite teh fraud being found out within 24hrs. It was like they did not want to know. but once we wrote in to them they backed off and immediately everything was being done as it should have been right at the start.
