greece info needed

Hi folks me and the wife were thinking of Greece for our annual jolly and our 7 yr old we are looking at zante found a cpl of deals that seem ok but we are not sure about therir economics situation i.e will they be out of the eurozone and how it will effect our spendies. We will be going 1st week in september.

    No one knows for sure, least of all the Greeks who are voting in their second general election in two months.

    If Greece leaves the Euro their new currency is likely to crash to the floor, meaning you'll get a lot for your pound. But high inflation is likely to follow.

    Most people holiday in Greece unaffected by the crisis, although VAT on food and drink has been increased from 13% to 23%. I'm guessing that even after an exit from the Euro hotels etc would still demand payment in euros or another hard currency.

    My guess, for what it is worth, is that Greece will stick with the Euro.
