Bit of a dodgy area that, if you claim for home business use, there can be serious implications regarding house insurance and potential cgt if you sell your home, which is deemed to also be a business premises. you need to think carefully whether you want/need to claim for this.;)
the only thing I am going to put down is a second phone line.
Well I have extra insurance for the stock I keep at home,
Didn't know about Capital Gains Tax, will have to look into it though.
I just put a figure down for premises costs as I have a unit aswell.
Does it matter if the property is in your partners name & you paid towards the cost of the electric & heating used?0 -

Hi there
If your partner charges you rent you can claim a percentage of this back... much better than owning a house as you can't claim on mortgage repayments... REMEMBER - get an invoice... see I am learning!! :rotfl:0 -
I pay my half for the mortgage, insurance & household bills.
We have 6 main rooms in the house, 1 is my office, so 1/6th of my half of the bills goes down as costs + cost of BB & extra insurance for stock
I dont think CGT will come into it, as I'm not on the deeds0
