in Credit cards
Hi im after a bit of help. I actually want to claim on the PPI Insurance on a Credit Card my parents have, however its proving hard work.
The story is, my parents had an Egg Card, with PPI included. This was under my Mum's name.
My Mum became seriously ill, and the nature of the illness meant that she will not be able to work again, and also she lost alot of her memory.
The memory loss meant that she could not remember even having an Egg Card, let alone the passwords for it.
Myself and my Dad wanted to find out the balance on the card, and it took us weeks to convince Egg of what had happened and that we needed to access the account.
Eventually they transferred the name over and put the account in my Dad's name, so we could find out the balance.
We then tried to claim on the PPI for my Mum's illness. However Egg said we couldn't as the account was in my Dad's name!
We explained what had happened, but the operator said that it is not possible to change the account like we did, and refused to believe it had happened!
In the meantime Egg was sold to Barclaycard. We requested a copy of the original credit agreement so that we could prove that it was originally under my Mum's name. After weeks of waiting and being told by Barclays that we will have it soon, we eventually got a letter saying that they apologise but they cannot find any record of the credit agreement and therefore will not be able to provide it!
That's where we are now. Where do we go from here? My parents paid the PPI premium each month, and now its come to the time that we actually need to enforce it and its proving impossible to do so!
Sorry if this is in the wrong section. Any help or direction is greatly received!!

What about writing to egg/Barclaycard on behalf of your mum with letter from her gp/hospital to back up her claim (recorded delivery). That would be a start....0
