Insurance stories with Solar PV fitted?

I'm wondering whether anybody on this forum has experience of applying for home insurance after having solar panels fitted? I'm about to apply for quotes.

I know must companies are fine with them you just have to include the cost of them in your re-build cost but best to check. Run through a normal quote with the higher re-build figure and then just ring each co

Insurers will ask about the roof construction (ie they like slate or tiles).

Most will cover solar panels but you may need to declare these as non-standard construction as they account for a certain percentage of the roof area which is not slate or tile.

Try to work out the approx % in relation to the total roof area and contact any companies whose online quotes are competitive for you to clarify.

Normally anything under 20 - 30% can be accepted straight away. More than this may need to be referred with further info.
