Is there a limit on refund fees? or can companies charge any amount they want?

Are we talking re-stocking fees or equivalent? complex issue,
is it a customised product? -
Was it a transaction where the Distance Selling Regulations would apply?
What was specified in the contract?0 -
No. Its for a product bought online. Unable to pick it up due to problems with ID. Can apply for refund but they are charging over one third of the amount as a refund fee.0

Give us more information - what did you buy - where from and why you cannot provide the ID asked for?
Are you under 18 for instance?0 -
I could be wrong but my thinking is that OP tried to buy something of an adult nature but is too young.0

So you didn't read the T&Cs of sale, they held up their end of the deal, but you couldn't go through with yours.
So I'd say a 30% restocking fee was appropriate.
If the T&Cs were unclear, maybe you can get a full refund via a complaint, but that could take a long time.0
