Intel rapid storage technology is trying to connect to the service

ops sorry it was the taskbar and not a notification box and it has now sorted itself out ?
Strange the computer went slow and the fan was making a very loud noise?

Did this happen shortly after turning on or rebooting?

It shouldn't be anything to worry about. The service in question has a delayed start, so (this is a bit of educated guesswork, but your comment about the PC running slow and the noisy fan tend to confirm this theory) if your PC was busy doing something at the point the service was required then the delayed start could have taken longer than normal, resulting in the error you saw.
