Disappearing Credit Card Debt?!

Hello, I've done a search for this but cant seem to find any similar threads so I apologise if I'm repeating another thread!

I have two amounts of debt both with Santander, one is an approx £800 overdraft and the other is approx £2,500 credit card.

I got both the overdraft and the credit card when I was 18, four years ago, and lost my job so I couldn't make the repayments. Both have since been passed on to debt collection companies.

I'm trying to get my financial situation back to health and have viewed my credit report on CreditExpert, but only the £800 overdraft is showing. There is no sign of my credit card existing on my credit report.

Has anybody had any experience of this before and does anybody know what I should do?

Any advice or help is very much appreciated.

Thank you, Jay x

Have you tried looking on your other 2 credit reference agencies reports? equifax and callcredit/noddle.

If it doesn't show on any of them then that could be a bonus in terms of your ability to get new credit. Do you still live at the same address you took the card out at? If not it could be that the addresses are not currently linked (but they could be linked in the future)

Even if it doesn't show it doesn't mean that you don't owe the money (and if taken to court by the creditor a CCJ could still appear on your report).
If you want to repay and don't know who currently owns the debt (if they've not been chasing recently) - you might well find that if its the first time you've checked your report recently / or since you have lived at your current address that a debt collector might write to you soon after.

    Hi, thank you for replying.

I haven't checked the other two credit reports but I shall do that straight away. I moved address a few months after I got the credit card and I have been there since then so around 3 years-ish.

I am still being contacted about the credit card debt and all correspondence has come to my current address as I informed them as soon as I moved.

Thanks again for your reply, I appreciate the advice
