Praise for Gamestation

I had a great experience at Gamestation at the weekend. It's so rare that I get such good service that I decided it was worth a mention
OH bought a new game for the Xbox 360 on Friday. On Saturday as he was playing it, I (clumsy oaf that I am) managed to walk past, trip over the wire connecting the controller to the Xbox, and this caused the Xbox to move slightly. Unfortunately most people who have an Xbox know what this means ... the dreaded laser burn! (Not actually caused by lasers, but by the Xbox being jarred which results in the disc being scratched by the disc tray.
As you can probably guess ... disc now unreadable, goodbye one day old game and what a waste of £35.
Or maybe not - on researching Gamestation's disc scratch fixing service, we decided it was worth a shot and went into town yesterday with our scratched game. The young guy behind the counter confirmed the laser burn and stuck it in the scratch repairing machine.
Not only did he set it on the highest setting (needed for laser burn apparently) without us asking, he also told us "I've put it in for two rounds rather than one just to make sure. I'll only charge you for one"
As we were waiting for the process to finish, OH mentioned a bonus 'map pack' that Gamestation had offered to pre-ordering customers (we bought it from Asda so no free map for us) and asked if there was any way to buy it. The guy said "Ah ha!", popped out into the stock room and returned with a claim-card-code-thingy for the bonus map! He said they'd been sent more map codes than games so he was happy to let us have one for free!
Him and OH then had a good old gossip about the game and the missions they had completed (how exciting for me!) The guy also tested our game worked on the instore Xbox in case it needed another round in the scratch repair machine.
So, long story short - for £2.95 we got a brand new looking game disc, a free map-pack, some advice about storing the Xbox so it doesn't happen again and excellent service from someone who really seemed to care.
Well done to the young guy who was working in Bath Gamestation on Sunday 20th May. We will definitely buy from you again. :T

good to hear positive shopping experiences rather than just constant moaninghelpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -
Lovely to hear
(or err...read!) Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
What you or your OH could buy is the play and charge pack for the controller so no need to watch for the wire and to not trip over it.0
