EDF Energy Nightmare

Please bare with me as I rant about EDF Energy. Has anyone had a similar problem? I moved my supplier last June from Scottish Power to EDF. I have had no problem with my gas account however the electricity is a nightmare. The reason is that the previous owner of my home thought he was getting over charged for electricity and there has been a second meter installed. I had no problem with Scottish Power for 4 years but EDF are a nightmare. I have not had one electricity bill from them. They class me as a business as othe second meter is seemingly registering as a business. Every month or so I phone and it looks like it is being sorted but unfortunatley no. When I phone during the day from my work I am normally on the phone for about 1/2 hour which does not please my boss. When I phone in the evening I cannot get the business department as the are only there during the day. Who can I complain to? Can someone point me in the right direction. I no the best thing is to cancel with them but I was offered the cheapest rate from them and I want them to honour that.

This has been said many times, but why keep phoning? Just write to them and send a copy to Energywatch.
The operators in the call centre don't follow things through, it is not in their interests to spend a lot of time on a problem.
A letter will nearly always get results; and you have proof of what you have told them. Less time, less expense, less hassle, better results.0 -

Thanks for your reply. Will give it a go.0 -
I have had a similar experience with these guys. Switched both elec and gas in Jan 2006 from NPower. Within 1 month was cancelled and told this was an erroneous transfer. Re-instated but was still being billed by NPower. EDF assured me they were supplying my elec even though there was an obvious problem with the MPAN numbers. Finally last month EDF admitted they were not supplying me. Reported to Energywatch and received a small compensation. Never again with EDF!0
