    Might be being a bit thick here so sorry in advance!! I might be misreading as usual :D

    Does it not say supplied complete with solder? It is just the battery that is not supplied.

    I think it comes with solder but not the iron required

    I had a swiss army knife for my 9th and by the time I was 11 already had 3 soldering irons - and when I was 12 had a business making distortion pedals in the village. I made them, my cousin sold them. I'm a girl by the way.

    I miss those soldering irons. sigh.

    Also, can I just comment. It obviously depends on the 10 year old, I know of some that I wouldn't let anywhere near a soldering iron, or the local cats would be sporting brands I reckon, or they would end up branding themselves, either by accident, or not.
