Just a note for everyone.
I did a BT to my Barclay about 3 weeks ago because it was offering 2.9% on the life of the balance. But I found out today that it wasn't on 2.9%, but instead is on the standard BT rate of 14.9% >:( >:(!!! After insisting that if it was not the 2.9%, I wouldn't have bothered with my Barclaycard, which was sitting untouched in my drawer in the first place! The guy finally gave in only because he could hear from my tone that I was about to scream his ears off, he checked and agreed it was a mistake and will send a note to the relevant department to get it rectify. Thank goodness I was calling them to make some more BT, otherwise I wouldn't have know about this "mistake". The question here is, is this really a mistake? I'm sure I made it very clear over the phone it was the 2.9% BT that I want.
So everyone, please call Barclays and check if you've got the right BT rate and not the 'mistake', as I've happened to have received.
I don't trust Barclay bank, they seems to be very sneaky.
Just found out on Monday that all this while my little "fortune' was sitting in the regular savings account earning some ridiculous 0.10% instead of the 4% aer I was expecting. The officer who upgraded me to this Openplan account did not explained that I was not allow to make withdrawal more than 3 time a year. He only explained the 4% aer and stress on the importance of the 25 pound going in monthly. In fact I was so confused with this one upgrade. Because it gave me 4 new accounts instead of the only one current account that I neeeded. So my fortune ws sitting in some account that I didn't want in the first place. And since it was there, supposedly earning 4% aer, I didn't bother to check around for another savings account. It was only recently after reading this site that I learned about regular savings account and thought I'll move my money to a better rate RS account.
Now I'm moving all my money to Alliance & Leceister and a few others!!

Check if there was a balance transfer fee as well... I don't know if they just apply these to 'specials' [but I think they apply fees to all BTs now].. so expect to see a fee, even if there wasn't one there initially.
And remember... Do NOT use the card for ANY purchases [hopefully there was a nil balance in the first place!] because the lowest rate debt gets repaid ahead of these... This offer only really makes sense where there are no other balances on the card and it is just repaid to Barclarycard at 2% a month......under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0
