I dont know if this is the right place to post this ...but here goes.
Can anyone tell me how to bid without bidding manually (ie with a program)as I am sure I lost out on something yesterday by someone else doing exactly that.
hope this makes sense
thanks

If you bid the maximum you want to pay on ebay in advance of the auction closing you will never loose out to an auction sniper.
Placing your maximum bid in the dying seconds via a sniper will not win over another snipes higher bid.
Having said that, I have used https://www.auctionsniper.com and found it reliable and easy to use.0 -

..... But it does prevent the inexperienced, "I will not be beat" buyer from nibbling up your maximum bid.

A bid smaller than someone elses higher bid will always lose irrespective of sniping or not"Success is not to be measured by the position someone has reached in life, but the obstacles he has overcome while trying to succeed." Booker T. Washington

You just have to put in the absolute maximum amount of what you want to pay for the item! and if you lose it after that then it was too expensive!!

Good Luck!

I am do not use snipers. I will either bid my maximum and laeve it, esp if I will not be around.
Otherwise I am a bit of a lurker and will snipe manually at the end (30 seconds to go) this has the advantage of stopping any shill bidding.
It does have the disadvantage of you can get a little complacent. I recently bid on a lot that I would have bid in excess of £500 for; I bid late at £350 expecting to win.........hmmm went for +/-£400. I was a tad cross with myself because it was a lot of 100 stop watches which I reckon split and sold indvidually had a market value of £1000-£2000.
So as the others have said bid your maximum and then you will not be dissapointed....but best to leave it late!!!0
