I concur with the previous poster.

    :D

I use homeplugs at home where router is in the main house, and my computer is in the extension. Plug one in by your router, and connect to your router (via cable). Plug the other one in by your computer and connect to the computer with a cable. There's a button on each plug that then sets them off discovering each other and once that's done, your computer will appear seamlessly in your home network.
Usually cables are included in teh kit. The link in my post above is just an example, but I would recommend a 200Mbit version or better (not 75Mbit). I have Ebuyer 'extra value' ones and can't fault them for what they do.

You may consider homeplugs with a passthrough 3pin plug adaptor if you are short on sockets, a bit more ££ though

Thanks for the replies, regarding changing the channel, we live on a farm, so no other buildings near by, if this makes a difference?

With the plug adapters, how do they work? Sorry to sound dull.

These videos will explain it to you, simply and helpfully:

We use 200 Mbps Solwise powerline adaptors for part of our home network – and they work well – but if I was starting from scratch now, I'd go for the 500 Mbps units instead.

You can also buy "Gigabit" versions but these can be troublesome. I'd stick with the 500 Mbps units, for now.

The ones containing a "pass-through" with an inbuilt 13 amp socket on them are handy if you only have one 13 amp wall socket available at the desired location(s).

Powerline adaptors are an excellent solution where wi-fi won't go and Ethernet cabling is a problem.

Thanks all for your replies, I ended up going for the homeplugs suggested at the start, as they seemed to have good reviews, and brought them before I saw about the 500 ones, hopefully they will do the job.
