rules for sellers giving feedback?

wondering if anyone can help, havent had to do this for a while as i took a break from ebay.

I sold a couple of items recently one item had a couple of bids on it but the person hasnt paid, (which is annoying as i am sure the other bidders would have had it) tried to email them- nothing back and have opened an unpaid item case, that is due up tomorrow where i can get my fees back.

Are sellers allowed to leave feedback, i know it cant be negative but can you be factual in something like, buyer did not respond, no payment received?

as always it just seems very one sided towards buyer on the feedback side of things.

or is my only course after getting my fees back just to block the bidder?

thanks

Any feedback left will be removed when a UPI Strike is issued

On an unpaid item, no FB can be left.
Leaving a false + , which is what you're suggesting, is against ebay rules. It also just bumps up a buyers FB nobody's likely to go through pages of FB to read the comments unless they've had an issue.
Always go through the NPB, block the bidder & move on.

thank you i didnt realise that any feedback is removed after a upi case.

It does seem a bit unfair from the sellers point of view.

I will just get my fees back and block bidder.

What happens to bidders when they get an unpaid strike against them? from a sellers point of view there isnt anywhere where we can see potential bidders and how many strikes they have against them is there?

ive got settings set up to restrict bidders for a certain number of unpaid items within a month do you think it is worth bringing this figure down?

    thanks

It's not unfair. Feedback for buyers is worthless and should be abolished.

If you set your preferences properly you shouldn't see too many NPBs - you will see a few, that is the problem with eBay, but it's something which is an occupational hazard - if you have a real problem with it, don't sell on eBay.

Until someone actually fails to pay or not, you can't know whether they won't pay - and selling to them is mandatory regardless of feedback. Sellers don't go through lists of buyers pre-vetting them, so they only see a buyer when they bid - when they begin the formal interaction with them. Secondly, sellers of Buy It Now items have no choice but to sell to a buyer - and with auctions, when someone bids, the seller can if they wish vet them. With BIN items, when the buyer makes themselves known, it's too late for the seller to do anything about it.

Buyer feedback was a pointless innovation by eBay back in the day and it is even more meaningless now. (The one saving grace is the no-negs-for-buyers-OMG! threads have more or less dwindled to the non-payers issue now.) You don't get this anywhere other than eBay - so do the strikes, set your preferences and move on.

    ....

Not really - buyers wil upaid strikes are limited from bidding again if sellers have their restrictions set high.

As others have said, you can alter your settings to help prevent that sort of person from bidding on your items.

    Here: My eBay/Account/Site Preferences/Buyer requirements.

Set it to 2 unpaid strikes in 12 months (I think the default is 2 in 1 month, which is insane as that's an incredibly unreliable buyer IMO).
