Compost going green?!

Ok so this is my first year growing and I think I am doing fairly well, however - in my little plastic greenhouse some of my compost is going bright green on the top? I dont think it is stopping my seeds growing as most of them still are, but what is cause it and is it a bad thing? Took a wole lot of the sprouting ones out today to replant in fresh compost because the green compost was freaking me out if im honest :o

Could be poor ventilation, may I ask, are you opening the greenhouse during the day? :)

Algae growing on the compst because it is too wet.

Caused by over watering / lack of ventiliation.

It's too wet or too humid in there. As has been said, you need good airflow in a mini greenhouse and as seedlings don't need a lot of water the compost just needs to be kept damp, not soaking wet. If you let it dry out a bit and open up the front on good days the green will stop growing. But in itself it's not harmful and in fact you're probably doing more damage to the sprouting seeds by moving them at this early stage than the algae is.

Avoid watering some days rather than constant watering, you need the seedlings to put down roots and go searching for water so dont make it too easy for them
You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow
