Writing a policy into a trust

As per my previous post i'm now looking to get life assurance for me and hubby. It says it can be written into a trust so inheritance tax is avoided and payments are quicker is this done automatically? or do i need to do something special to ensure this?
I realise this may be a silly question but i'm not too sure what it means...
Thanks in advance....

No such thing as a silly question. If your looking to do this yourself and not through a broker your best asking to make sure you do it correctly.
Life insurance isnt written in trust as a matter of course, you have to do this seperatly. The easiest and cheapest (free) way is to speak to the insurance company and ask them for a trust form (the most common is discretionary/flexible trust).
Its a 2 page form and with about 3 pages of writing. Complete that and post it back. Job done.
