Travel Websites flaws driving me crazy any reccommendations for destination anywhere?

Im looking to find myself a my cousin a cheap holiday. Past couple of years I have been getting to grips with doing this stuff on my own online instead of through a travel agent but I am really fed up of poor websites. I want a website that will let me search for
  • any destination,
  • leaving from Scottish airports but really Prestwick or Glasgow.
  • Departing anytime between 15-20 July
  • Return no later than Sunday 27th July.
  • Board basis likely self catering will be cheapest but would consider others if they came up
  • Looking to spend £350 each £400 absolute max that would need to include flights, accommodation, baggage, charges, transfers

Teletext normally quite good but trying to use their detailed search wont let me change the date

Lowcost holidays trying to search from Scottish Aiport gives me tonnes of results for Newcastle. When I contacted them to state Newcastle was NOT in Scotland one of their foreign call centre agents accidentally replied to me whilst meaning to mail the UK centre asking whether he should reply to me regarding my complaint. When I try to go to their inspire me section for people who dont mind where they go

Travel republic doesnt seem to have a way to search for any destination it wants me to be very specific eg can even put just Turkey have to say which area etc so very time consuming to check best prices for all destinations

Anyone reccomend any good sites that are user friendly and have the functionality Im looking for to find cheap holiday?

HELP LOL

Are you sure Newcastle isn't in Scotland,
It's cold, wet and they don't speak English.

Try the holiday finder on lastminute.com:
    http://holidays.lastminute.com/HolidayFinder.aspx

It came up with some holidays in Majorca, Gran Canaria, Costa del Sol, Bulgaria, Algarve, Crete, etc when I did a search with all Scotland plus up to £500 (the holidays came in at £350 pp).

Don't forget quidco if you do decide to book with them.

Edit: sorry just realised they also include Newcastle as Scotland! Ah well, there were still one or two from Glasgow when I scrolled down a few pages.

They probably know that lot of Scots do travel from Newcastle so whilst it isn't a Scottish airport, it is an airport used by Scots.

Thomas cook now has a feature where you can choose a date and look at all destinations within that date.
I know you said that you wanted DIY, but they have some great prices, especially last minute.
    £100 - £10,000

Yeah Thomas Cook is one of the places I am looking at just now, I really like that feature, great for people like me who dont mind where they go.

Whilst some Scots do fly from Newcastle I think they should allow an option for people to untick any airports they dont want to fly from after all poor functionality will likely result in people booking elsewhere. I like their website if you know where yoru flying to but the inspire me section needs more thought

Ryanair from Prestwick to Malaga about £150 ea
Train from airport to Torremolinos about €2 ea
Hotel e.g. Hotel El Pozo about £180 ea

The train is an absolute doddle
The hotel above is very good for the money

also, go to the airport website and see what they have
e.g. Prestwick's Airport website has the following offer
    http://holidays.glasgowprestwick.com/public/offerdetail.pl?id=211776&zoneid=1751

no idea what the hotel is like - you'll need to do a bit of research on TripAdvisor

Try www.travelmatch.co.uk as a good starting point to see what packages are available with the main travel agents. I personally like this one as it lets you list multiple airports, destinations, and travel agents. It doesn't always find everything available and sometimes the prices are not 100% up to date, but it does find most packages and it's quick and easy.

For DIY I use Skyscanner to find a really cheap flight then go to Travelrepublic or similar to match it with accommodation and transfer costs. Traditional package holiday resorts tend to have the cheapest accommodation and the cheaper shuttle transfers.

Good luck, hope you find what you want.
