Has anyone got any experience of Kardamena? Have found a lovely looking hotel, fantastic reviews on TripAdvisor, well within our price range but what is the area like?
Thanks
Thanks

I loved it in 1981 when you had to collect your bags off the cart at the bottom of the aircraft steps as there wasnt much of a terminal building.
Seriously though I cant help with what its like today0 -
I went when i was 18, some 9 years ago and it is a young and lively place. I know a friend who worked in the bars out there. The place is beautiful with a very nice beach. We saw a few families when we were out there, but not really past 9pm. If the hotel is on the outskirts, im sure it will be fine!

Thanks, the description of the hotel says
So not too far out the way?Located 7 km from the airport, 2.5 km from the village centre and 450m from the beach. A regular public bus service is available to village center and to Kos town0 -
Sounds like my kind of place, not touristy (!) I hope you a fantastic time if you go, please report back if you do.

My partner and I went to Kardamena in 2008 with our (then) 10 year old daughter and her 12 year old friend. We all thoroughly enjoyed it! The transfer time was only about 25 mins. We too were just outside the town, and Kardamena was a 15 minute walk from our Hotel - which was close enough to take a leisurely stroll yet far enough away from the noisy nightlife (there are quite a lot of bars in a small area). There are also plenty of shops and restaurants in the town. We went on a day trip to Kos which is only a 40 mins ride away. I would say Kardamena is a good base for exploring the island and has something for everyone. We certainly enjoyed it and hope you do too, should you decide to go.0

I'm sorry I can't post a link, but if you go on the weather underground website (and select history data under the local weather tab) you can find out weather for previous years for a selected area. It gives details of min/max temperature, rainfall and windspeed. Hope this helps x0
