Bought faulty car from national dealership

Hi all

Anybody know where i stand here?

Viewed car in showroom - Sep reg'd (61 plate). Asked what mpg would be, salesman said he'd check book. I said - check trip computer for accurate reading - he pressed button but nothing happened - i say - maybe you need ignition on - he said he couldnt find keys.

Decide to buy car based on average mpg according to book.

Dealership said they would do an interim service as car had done only 9000 miles.

I pick up car and its pulling to left and shuddering when I brake.

Also cant get trip computer to work.

Take it back and they book it in.

Get it back, told there isnt a trip computer fitted (which i dont believe) and that the front brakes discs and pads need replaced (getting ordered in).

I've had the car 10 days.

Can I tell them to take the car back and cancel the sale? Faulty goods surely? Plus no trip computer (which salesman either didnt know about or tried to pull the wool over my eyes).

any help/advice appreciated.

    I doubt it !

But we can't know whether it should or shouldn't have a trip computer if you don't tell us exact model ?

Not all cars have a trip computer. My ESP isn't working so I can't divine exactly what make/model you've bought.

Dealer is fixing the brakes. As long as they fix them and the fault disappears what's the problem?

Would that be available on line though? They state it wasnt factory fitted?

also it needs brakes replaced after 9000 miles isnt that a sign of a bad car or that it has been driven poorly?

Just grab the front wheels and give them a shake before driving it again and make sure there is no play in the wheel hubs.
    just for peace of mind.

    from what car

The Vauxhall Astra 1.7 CDTi 110 Excite comes with alloy wheels, air-con, cruise control, Bluetooth and ESP. The ride is smooth, the cabin is roomy, and the 1.7 is punchy once the turbo is spinning.

    try LINK

    For T
    or lots of dodgy salesmen

but confirming exact model is tricky not helped by the the manual you get with a car which tends to cover every possible option whether fitted or not
