Hoe easy is it to fit new door lock?

Options
My 'cylinder rim' door lock broke about 10 years ago, but I didn't care because we used the deadlock instead (more secure and impossible to lock ourselves out!) - but as I will be selling my flat soon, I should really fix this. How easy would it be to fit a whole new one (given that I'm the worst DIYer ever!)?

No point repairing the existing one, as I've no idea where the keys are, and one like this is under £30 so not gonna bankrupt me:

Would this one be ok or are there any special characteristics I need to check? (My door is 45mm, I checked that already).

Easy this an easy job?

Considering that with your own admission you are the worst DIYer ever, why not change your view of yourself and carefully remove the old lock, taking notes on how you removed it, and take it to your Hardware Store and have a word with the assistant there, and see if you can get a replacement that is as 'near as' the same as to the broken one.

Locks have not changed that much over the years in my experience, so think positive and make yourself proud.

A 100 times easier than driving a car, honest you wouldn't believe how easy it is :)

you'll need a little hacksaw, see that little bar at the back of the barrel where the key is, you have to trim that to length.

Give it a go, you'll wonder why you didn't do it before.
    The instructions are usually included.

what's the worst that can happen?
take photos if you can. you can them refer back to them if need be.

these type of lock are relatively easy to replace. take it step by step and you will be fine.

when you remove the existing lock. count the number of notches on the spindle if there are any, if not the measure it so when you cut the new one to size it will fit. Remember, measure twice cut once.
